Since the ceiling usually has plenty of space, the acoustics absorbers in interiors are mostly planned from top to bottom. As the same usually applies to the lighting, Grape has developed Grape Float as an acoustic solution that with flexibility combines light and an effective acoustic absorber in one harmonious solution.

The suspended acoustic ceiling plate is the basic module in the system. And actually in itself a very good acoustic solution (class A). In the plate, space has been made for up to four Grape Float lamps. There are two types of them: A reversible up- and down-light and an adjustable narrow-beam spot for lighting e.g. decorative building elements or pictures. After installation, the lamps are purely plug-and-play. Therefore, the system is easy to reconfigure without professional assistance.

Grape Float is available in spec. measures up to 180 x 240 cm. Which is especially practical when Grape Float is to make up the entire acoustic ceiling. The example above is the conference room at Svane Køkkener in Glostrup.

Impact Acoustic®, which supplies the felt sheets for Grape Float, can document that a minimum of 60% of the sheets consist of post consumer plastic bottles. Which directly translated means that per 88 square meters are used. bottles that could otherwise have ended up in nature.

Specifications and acoustics

Grape Float is designed in two standard sizes: 84 x 150 cm and 59 x 118 cm. In addition, the plate can be made to spec. measurements and individual configurations in sizes up to before mentioned 180 x 240 cm. Suspended 10 to 40 cm from the ceiling, Grape Float is an effective absorbent (class A). Each lamp has an integrated LED board with a brightness of 1000 lumens. The color temperature is 3000K with a color rendering of CRI 90+. Grape Float is available in 32 nature-inspired colours.
