How much acoustic material is needed?

Danish building regulations specify that in open offices, the equivalent absorption area must be at least 1.1 times the floor area. For example, if an office is 100 sqm, the equivalent absorption material required is 110 sqm. Additionally, if the sound-absorbing materials absorb an average of 50% of the sound, the actual requirement is 220 sqm. This highlights why an acoustic ceiling is often insufficient - especially in spaces with high ceilings, where additional wall absorbers are frequently necessary.
